Saturday January 9th.
A great finisher's medal.
I'm in for the half again.
Website says course is not as tough as last year--we'll see.
NEED IT after all this non-stop party food.
Any of you gonna be there? _________________ "Impossible is a word we created to make ourselves feel better about not trying." |

| Considered it again this year. Doing Miami at the end of January, so no MS Blues this year. |

No Jackson for me.
Checked all the forecasts, PRAYED, fretted, but FINALLY made the right decision: I need to skip the Jackson trip.
Wunderground is showing 16 degrees and 9 mph wind chill which factors into a 3 degree wind chill.
But the MAIN THING is--I'm antsy about baby Silas being born.
Our grandson is not due until Feb 13th, but doctor says his Mama's blood pressure makes his arrival imminent--as in any day now.
I gotta say, it's FUN being on baby watch!
just want both Kristy and Silas to be safe, that's all.
There's an old story--and you have probably heard it about the man who is on his rooftop and flood waters are all around.
His neighbors float by in a boat and they tell him to get in, and he says, "NO! my God will rescue me!"
Paramedics come by in a boat, same story.
Helicopter flies over head, same story.
Finally he drowns and when he gets to the Pearly Gates he asks God why he let him drown and God replies, "I sent 2 boats and
a helicopter to rescue you, but you were too stubborn to listen."
So, I think that's where I am.
First it was the windchill that made me doubt going.
Then the SNOW.
Then Silas and Kristy.
So almost Grandma-Sunshine is not making this race. There will be others. _________________ "Impossible is a word we created to make ourselves feel better about not trying." |
