Wait for the results? What happened to Mac's Race Timing Service? |

After the race we HAD to go to the Flying Saucer and semi-celebrate the first official timing. Results were sent to the race directors yesterday afternoon. Everything went pretty well, a few minor problems but we were able to work them out. The race director took the most heat because some of the runners forgot/weren't told/lost/whatever their chip. NO CHIP...NO TIME. Remember that on all of our races.
However, results were also posted at www.macsrts.com on the results link. They'll be there much faster for off site races.
A big Thank-You to Joe! He got stuck in the rain cutting off chips and he was a big help in setting up and tearing down the finish line. _________________ Run For Life. Run For Health. |

Good job everyone who ran, I hear the weather was less than perfect
Also nice job, Ken on your timing and results system. Hopefully, race directors will get used to ensuring the runners all have a chip! _________________ Energy and persistence conquer all things.

Shelly...don't kid yourself.... the River Trail 15K is known for issues. The first year I ran it was 2007 and I beleive you can ask anyone that was there. It was so freaking cold but that wasn't even the issue.... the WIND was unbelieveable. We actually had to lean into it to even go anywhere. 2008.... Yes, I was following someone that apparently had not run it much. So, if you ran only 9.3 miles and didn't get blown off the course...IT WAS A PERFECT RACE for the 15K !! Did you say you don't like running in the rain? You would not have had a good time at the Virginia Creeper Marathon then. It was 26.2 miles of rain....and we had a blast! Congrats on your first 15K ! _________________ It's not the speed; it's the WILL. |

a marathon of rain?! ya'll are better people than me. i think i must have been a cat in a past life. i am glad i did it though, 'cause i learned some things. 1) cotten is way too absorbent to wear in rain 2) same with knit gloves 3) i do not need to fill my hydration system all the way up as it then weighs about 5 lbs 4) plastic bags make a dandy garmin rain protector 5)my i pod is not waterproof 6) and most importantly, i can run 9.3 miles in the rain! _________________ BECAUSE I CAN! |

| I'm curious. Tell us about the finish line. I thought Glen was in second when I saw him (I don't know him, but someone was right behind Hillary when they passed me going back). |

| Yeah. You'd need a telescope to see them from your place in the race. |
