Judy M. Little
Ms. Wheelchair Arkansas 2010

Judy M. Little, 51, of Cave City, was crowned Ms. Wheelchair Arkansas 2010 at the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock on February 20, 2010. She has raised three children, two sons, James Little of Newport, and Justin Little of Cave City, also a daughter, Jill Little of Cave City and currently has six grandchildren. Her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Hubert Rush reside in Evening Shade and she has two brothers, Lenny Rush of Batesville and Tim Rush of Russellville, Ar.
Ms. Little was employed with the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier at the Cave City office. On February 1, 2000, while returning from a vacation in Arizona, she was involved in an auto accident in Victoria, Texas, that resulted in a spinal cord injury that began her life in a wheelchair. Her enduring spirit has helped her to face many challenges presented to those with disabilities.

Due to being a radio announcer for the Cave City School System for 3 years on KVMN, formerly KZIG, she decided to enroll at UACCB and is currently majoring in communications. She is also a recipient of the Extra-Ordinary Leadership Award in honor of the late Lt. Governor, Winthrop Rockefeller, from the Board of Directors of the Ms. Wheelchair Arkansas Organization. Her motto is: "Advanced Technologies Create Independence".

Ms. Little's vision for her reign is to promote positive change for everyone by raising awareness of the advanced assisted technologies available today. Each disability has its own unique barriers which can be turned into opportunities at the work place, public establishments, recreational facilities and personal residences. She believes that a change of heart must first take place in all sectors of society, the disabled and non-disabled, employee and employer along with local, state and federal agencies, in order for new possibilities to be created for those with disabilities to become whole functioning persons. Her heartfelt desire is reflected in this statement: "If I can accomplish anything to help just one other person, like myself, with a disability, it would be worth all the hurdles I have had to overcome to attain the position I am in today".
